Where to Stay in Niagara Falls with Kids
Trying to figure out where to stay in Niagara Falls with kids? You’re not alone. The hotel options here are honestly overwhelming, with dozens of properties promising “fallsview,” and prices can swing wildly depending on the season, the floor, and which direction your window faces.
Growing up less than an hour away means that we’ve treated Niagara Falls as an easy getaway, whether for a long weekend or quick getaway over March Break. It’s close enough to feel easy, but with enough to do that you still need somewhere decent to sleep.
Over the years, I’ve stayed at a few Niagara Falls hotels here myself and heard plenty from good friends about the rest. This guide cuts through the noise and shares the best places to stay in Niagara Falls for families, from splurge-worthy fallsview picks to budget-friendly options that still feel worth booking.

What to Know Before You Book
Niagara Falls hotels fall into a few categories, and knowing the difference helps narrow things down fast.
Fallsview hotels sit on the escarpment above the falls and offer direct views of Horseshoe Falls from the rooms. These tend to be the priciest options, and the views vary a lot depending on which floor and which direction you’re facing. Always check what “fallsview” actually means before booking.
Clifton Hill and the tourist strip is where you’ll find mid-range chains and budget options. You won’t have falls views from your room, but you’re still walking distance to the main attractions and it’s a bit livelier (sometimes a lot livelier) at night.
Further out, along the Niagara Parkway or closer to the QEW, tends to be quieter and more affordable, but you’ll need a car or the WEGO bus to get around.
Tip: Book early if you’re visiting in summer or over the holidays. Niagara Falls is one of the busiest tourist destinations in Canada, and rates climb fast once July hits — the same goes for Christmas and New Year’s, when the Winter Festival of Lights draws big crowds. June and September offer a good middle ground, with warmer weather, fewer crowds, and better prices.

Best Fallsview Hotels in Niagara Falls for Families
Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Hotel & Suites
This is the top pick for families who want the full Niagara Falls experience in one place. The Hilton sits right in the Fallsview area with views of the falls from many rooms, and — the big draw for families — it’s connected to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, with 16 waterslides, a wave pool, and a splash zone for little ones. After a day at the falls, having a waterpark steps away is a pretty great thing.
I’ve stayed here on a girls work trip, not with kids, and the hotel itself is exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Fallsview property. The rooms are spacious, the location is excellent, and the falls views from the upper floors are genuinely impressive.
For a multi-night family trip, this is the one I’d book first.
It’s also home to Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse, an all-you-can-eat churrascaria where servers bring fire-roasted meat skewers right to the table. We ate here and loved it.
Tip: Waterpark access is typically included with your room, but confirm when booking as policies can vary by rate type.

Sheraton on the Falls
Connected to Fallsview Casino Resort and steps from the observation decks, the Sheraton is one of the most centrally located hotels in Niagara Falls. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the higher floors offer great views of the falls.
The location puts you close to plenty of dining options, which is convenient when you’re out all day and just want something easy nearby. We haven’t stayed here ourselves, but friends who have recommended it, and it’s one of the most recognizable names in the Fallsview area for good reason.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Niagara Falls
If space is a priority, and with kids, it usually is, Embassy Suites is a great option. The two-room suites give you a separate living area, which makes a real difference when you need the kids to wind down while you stay up a little longer. It’s well located in the Fallsview area and close to transit if you’re planning to use the WEGO bus to get around.
We haven’t stayed here, but the suite layout and location make it one of the more practical options for families doing more than a quick overnight.

Mid-Range Hotels in Niagara Falls for Families
Marriott on the Falls
Just steps from Table Rock and the entrance to Journey Behind the Falls, the Marriott on the Falls puts you as close to the action as it gets without paying top-dollar Fallsview prices. Rooms are comfortable and well-sized, and the location is genuinely hard to beat — you can walk to most of the main Niagara Parks attractions without needing transit at all.
It’s a good choice if you want convenience above all else and don’t need a waterpark or falls view from your pillow.
Best Western Plus Cairn Croft Hotel
This hotel sits on Lundy’s Lane rather than right at the falls, so you’ll need a car or a short ride to get to the main attractions, but if you’re driving anyway, that’s a small tradeoff for what you get here.
The pool is the real draw at the Cairn Croft. There’s a play structure in the water for younger kids, lounge chairs around the deck so you can actually relax while they splash around, and a hot tub for the adults. It’s the kind of pool setup where you don’t feel like you’re perched awkwardly at the edge trying not to get soaked. There’s also an arcade, which keeps older kids happy on a rainy afternoon or after dinner when no one wants to go back out.
The rooms are comfortable and there’s a Nespresso machine, which is a small thing that makes a real difference after an early morning with kids. A proper coffee before the day starts goes a long way.
Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls
Another good mid-range pick, the Courtyard is in a great location but without the Fallsview prices.
With both indoor and outdoor pools and an arcade, there’s plenty to keep kids occupied. Family suites and interconnected rooms give you options on space, and The Keg on-site makes for an easy dinner option after a long day. It’s well-located, consistently well-reviewed for cleanliness, and a reliable choice if you want something comfortable and family-friendly without Fallsview prices.

Budget-Friendly Option
Days Inn & Suites by the Falls
If you’re looking to keep costs down, the Days Inn on Centre Street is worth considering. It’s close to Clifton Hill and an easy walk to other attractions, plus it has an indoor pool, which is always a bonus with kids. Rooms are dated and it can be noisy, so it’s not the pick if you’re after a polished stay, but for a budget-friendly base in a good spot, it does the job.
Another option: Great Wolf Lodge
Great Wolf Lodge sits just off Clifton Hill, about an eight-minute drive from the Falls, and it deserves a mention, although it’s a very different kind of stay from everything else on this list.
It’s less of a hotel and more of a self-contained resort, with a massive indoor waterpark plus a full lineup of activities for kids beyond the pools (think s’mores over fire pits, character meet-and-greets, and organized activities). If your family loves that kind of stay, it’s a perfect option, but if you’re planning to spend your days out exploring Niagara Falls, one of the other options on this list will suit you better.
Practical Tips for Booking a Hotel in Niagara Falls
Book early for summer. July and August are peak season, and prices at the better Fallsview hotels can be significantly higher on weekends. If you have flexibility, June and September are both great times to visit — the fireworks are running, the weather is warm, and you’ll pay less.
Decide if a waterpark hotel is worth it. If you’re staying two or more nights, or visiting in shoulder season when the weather is less predictable, a hotel with waterpark access (like the Hilton) can be a great value. It’s a built-in rainy day option, and in cooler months it gives you something fun to do that doesn’t depend on the weather at all.
“Fallsview” doesn’t always mean what you think. Some hotels use the term loosely. Before booking, check the specific room type and floor — a partial view from a low floor isn’t the same as looking out your window and seeing Horseshoe Falls. Reading recent reviews with photos is the best way to know what you’re actually getting.
Consider parking costs. Most Fallsview hotels charge for parking, and it adds up over a multi-night stay. Factor that in when comparing prices, especially if you’re driving in from Toronto or elsewhere in Ontario.
Final Thoughts: Where to Stay in Niagara Falls with Kids
There’s no shortage of accommodations in Niagara Falls — the challenge is picking the right one for your family and your budget. If you want the full experience and the falls view, the Hilton’s waterpark access makes it the top pick for families. If you want a great location at a slightly lower price point, the Marriott on the Falls is hard to beat. And if you’re watching your budget, a simple, well-located base like a&o is a good option without the higher price tag.
Whichever you choose, Niagara Falls is one of those destinations that you need to experience, and the hotel is just where you sleep between the good parts.
