Location: New Town (Nové Město)
First up on our list, Novotel Praha Wenceslas Square is our top pick for families visiting Prague. Its location on Wenceslas Square makes it easy to get around, and the indoor pool with a waterslide is a huge bonus after a day of sightseeing. In fact, it’s one of the few hotels in the heart of Prague that has a pool – never mind a waterslide.
Family rooms are modern and comfortable, and there’s an on-site restaurant that makes meals easy if you don’t feel like venturing out.

Our thoughts: We liked that it was close enough to walk to Old Town and many major sights, but just outside the busiest streets. It made getting back to the hotel in the evenings much easier without having to fight through heavy crowds.

Grand Hotel Bohemia offers a little more luxury while still being a great option for families. It’s tucked away on a quiet street in Old Town, just a short walk from Powder Tower and Wenceslas Square, so you’re close to the attractions, but without the noise.
Rooms are elegant but still comfortable for families, with options for connecting rooms if you need a bit more space. The hotel’s buffet breakfast is highly rated, and there’s a fine-dining restaurant on-site if you want a special night out without having to venture too far.

If you’re looking for a modern hotel in a quieter part of Old Town, INNSiDE Prague Old Town is a great option. It’s tucked onto a side street, so you’re close to all the main sights, but away from the busiest areas.
Rooms are bright and modern, and some family rooms are available, with separate living and sleeping areas. There’s also an on-site restaurant, with a terrace, and a small fitness centre. It’s a good pick if you want a more contemporary feel compared to some of Prague’s older historic hotels.

Just down the street from MOOo Downtown, Radisson Blu Hotel Prague is a good option if you’re looking for something a bit more upscale than an apartment stay. Set in the heart of Prague between New Town and Old Town, it’s in a quieter area but still close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square, the Dancing House and Old Town Square.
Occupying four adjoining historic buildings, Radisson Blu Prague is impressive to see from the outside. It maintains its historic charm, but inside, rooms are recently renovated with a relaxed, modern style.

Location: Vinohrady
Clarion Hotel Prague City is a comfortable, affordable option that works really well for families. We stayed here and loved it. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable, and by pure luck, there was a Christmas market set up right outside—perfect for a festive and easy evening stop after a day of sightseeing.
Located in Vinohrady, the hotel is in a quieter residential neighbourhood that’s still very central. It’s less than a block to the I.P. Pavlova metro station, making it easy to get around the city, and it’s also within walking distance to Wenceslas Square and many of Prague’s main sights.

Personal tip: We loved that it was close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square and the National Museum, but since it’s not right in the heart of the city centre, we made sure to plan full days out exploring. It made a great base for spending three days in Prague, especially because it was easy to reach different neighbourhoods—and we found it an easy walk from the train station after arriving from Vienna.
