We’ve visited Quebec City several times, in summer, fall, and winter, staying in different hotels and neighbourhoods each time. Some were great for families, while others didn’t quite work as well. After those experiences—plus a lot of research—we’ve put together this list of the best family hotels in Quebec City.
While we haven’t stayed at every hotel on this list (yet!), we’ve chosen places carefully that offer a great experience for families—whether it’s extra space, kid-friendly perks, or a prime location near top attractions.

L’Hôtel Quebec
After staying in a few different places over the years, we can easily say this is one of the best hotels in Quebec City for families. With a massive indoor play structure, a tropical-style pool, and plenty of entertainment for kids, L’Hôtel Québec feels more like a kid-focused resort than a typical hotel.
The real highlight is the incredible indoor play areas. Kids can spend hours climbing the seven-story play structure, splashing in the water play area with dumping buckets, or swimming in the warm indoor pool. There’s also a playroom for younger kids, an arcade room for older kids, and wristbands give access to all the fun.
Beyond the play areas, the hotel keeps families entertained with face painting, balloon creations and nightly shows. Even though the entertainment is in French, it didn’t stop my kids from loving the magic show.
The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a kid-friendly menu, making meals easy. And if that’s not enough? There are slushies (and adult drinks) at the pool bar.
Located in Sainte-Foy, it’s close to the Aquarium du Québec and Laurier Québec shopping mall, with easy access off the highway.
Hilton
For families who want to be right in the middle of the action, the Hilton Québec is a top choice. Located just steps from Old Quebec, it’s within walking distance of major attractions, restaurants, and Place d’Youville, where you’ll find ice skating in winter.
The Hilton offers great perks for families, especially during peak travel times like summer, spring break, the holidays, and Carnaval in February. Kids get wristbands for fun surprises throughout the hotel, adding an extra touch of excitement to their stay. There’s also an arcade and games room, giving kids a place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
The spacious suites, which provide extra room for everyone to spread out, are great for families. And one of the best features is the heated outdoor pool, which is open year-round—perfect for a swim with a view, even in winter.

Hôtel Le Bonne Entente
If you’re looking for a luxury stay that still welcomes families, Hôtel Le Bonne Entente is a perfect choice. This 5-star hotel goes beyond just being kid-friendly—it makes sure both parents and children have an unforgettable stay.
One of the standout features is the heated outdoor pool and hot tub, which can be enjoyed year-round—even in the middle of winter. For younger guests, the hotel offers a fun kids’ club with activities, plus an entertainment room stocked with video games and board games.

Despite its upscale feel, the hotel goes out of its way to make younger guests feel special. Children receive a stuffed bear at check-in, and kid-sized robes and slippers are waiting in the room. Families can also book spacious family rooms, ensuring there’s plenty of space to unwind.
For parents looking for a little downtime, the hotel offers babysitting services—and even pet sitting, so no one gets left out.
If you’re looking for a high-end stay with thoughtful touches for kids, Auberge Saint-Antoine is one of the best choices in Quebec City.
Hotel Must
Part of the JARO Hotels group, Hôtel Must knows how to cater to families. While we haven’t stayed here yet, we’ve had great experiences at two of their other properties—Hôtel Palace Royale and L’Hôtel Québec, which is one of our top picks for families.
This hotel is packed with kid-friendly amenities, including an indoor amusement center with ball games, a play area, and an arcade. There’s also an indoor pool with a waterslide and a splash area for younger kids. In the summer, the sun terrace is a great spot to relax.
Located near the airport, it’s a convenient choice for families flying in or out of Quebec City. Plus, with a Boston Pizza on-site, meals are easy and a definite hit with kids.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel with lots of entertainment for kids, Hôtel Must is a solid choice.
Hôtel Valcartier
We haven’t stayed at Hôtel Valcartier yet, but after hearing glowing recommendations from a friend, we wish we had. When we tried to book last-minute in winter, it was already full—proof of just how popular it is. Next time, we’re making sure to plan ahead.
Located 20 minutes outside Quebec City, this family-friendly resort is well worth the drive. No matter the season, there’s something for everyone.
The highlight is Bora Parc, a massive indoor waterpark with slides, a wave pool, and splash areas, making it a great option year-round. In the summer, the outdoor waterpark is packed with waterslides, lazy rivers, and pools, while winter brings the outdoor snow park, known for its incredible tubing hills. The resort is also home to the famous Hôtel de Glace (Ice Hotel), a must-see seasonal attraction.
And with multiple dining options, even picky eaters will find something they like, making meals stress-free. If you’re looking for a destination-style resort packed with family fun, Hôtel Valcartier is a fantastic choice—just be sure to book early, especially in peak seasons.

Hôtel et Suites Le Dauphin Quebec
Located outside Old Quebec, Hôtel et Suites Le Dauphin Québec is a great choice for families looking for easy highway access and a more budget-friendly stay. It’s close to Méga Parc, one of the best indoor amusement parks in the city, making it a great option if you’re planning to visit.
The hotel has a small indoor pool with a splash pad, perfect for younger kids, and an outdoor playground for summer visits. Family rooms are available, offering more space for those travelling with kids. While it’s not in the heart of the city, its location makes it easy to explore different areas of Quebec City without the higher prices of Old Quebec hotels.
If you don’t mind staying a little outside the city centre, this hotel offers a comfortable and convenient stay with great family perks.
Hotel Palace Royal
Located just steps from Place d’Youville and the city gates, Hôtel Palace Royal is a great option for families who want to be within walking distance of everything in Old Quebec. Its central location makes it easy to explore the city without needing a car, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
We stayed here and enjoyed our stay, although my kids weren’t big fans of the upscale, classic decor, which they thought felt a little too old-fashioned. While the style may not be the most kid-approved, the hotel itself is still a great option for families. It’s also a fantastic pick if you’re visiting the Quebec City Christmas Market—Place D’Youville is just a block away, and the rest of the markets are an easy walk.
One of the hotel’s highlights is the indoor pool, which is surrounded by a beautiful interior garden, giving it a unique and relaxing feel. If you can, try to book a room with a balcony overlooking the pool for a nice view. The hotel also offers underground parking, making it a convenient option if you’re driving, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for easy dining.

Le Concorde
Hôtel Le Concorde is another good option for families. I stayed here years ago, before kids, and while it’s under new management now, it’s still a great choice for family hotels in Quebec City.
Located on Grande Allée, it’s within easy walking distance of Old Quebec and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. The indoor pool overlooks the Plains of Abraham, offering a unique view while you swim. And for a special experience, the revolving restaurant on the top floor provides incredible panoramic views of the city.
If you’re looking for a convenient location with great views, Hôtel Le Concorde is worth considering.
